The 2in1 Baby Crib is a Product Design team project developed during the second semester of 2013.
The crib is destined for newborn babies up to 3 years old. Once the crib is not in use anymore, it can be easily converted into a shelf, without the need of aditional parts or tools.
Project Development
During the market research with local crib shops in Florianópolis - Brasil, the team was able to collect data about consumers interests, expectations and what justified their crib acquisition. The results showed there is a great interest and search for convertible cribs, which we visualized as our project opportunity. However almost all of the products available on crib merket are convertible into beds or toddler bed. With this informaton we deciced to develop a crib that could be converted into another product, differing from the bed class.
Product Description
Main material: Teca wood in natural color and white paint.
Easy to assemble/dismount/convert since it is mainly fixed with pegs and few screws.
Once dismounted, the "T" shaped boards become the shelves which are side locked due to thickness recess joint.
2 adjustable mattress height.
Regulations & Safety
The entire project was developed and attends to the ABNT (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas) especifications for baby crib product class.
