In addition to my other duties with GAX, I led the creation of GAX’s installation rooms for the 2018 & 2019 shows. I created the themes and directed artists and volunteers to create an immersive space.

The photos I included are from the 2019 show. We were operating on an extremely small budget to fill up a large room so we relied heavily on recycled materials. The brown structure in the second photo is a cave made of recycled cardboard that was hand cut and puzzle pieced together for several weeks. I saw the concept from some architecture students online and thought we could easily do that too.

It certainly wasn’t easy but we made it happen.
