You know, when all you have is a kitchen to shoot in, it’s pretty cool that you can create custom backgrounds in Midjourney. I got really tired of replacing my kitchen wall with textures I shot around town, or draping up sheets, or finding stuff online that already existed. So, I’ve been experimenting with shooting portraits then creating a backdrop after-the-face. This is opposite of what I’ve been doing when I composite faces and body parts into AI art that I’ve already generated. For this, I concentrate on making a good portrait, then figuring out what I want in the background. In this case, I wanted frames and a cool looking floor.
This was actually very tricky and took several attempts to match the colors of the subject with the background. Not only that, but I had to contend with the tulle fabric and how to get that to be see-through. This image here was tough to make, I tell ya.
