This image is part of a series of illustrations commissioned to compose the scenery of the opera "Stefan Zweig, a pocket opera" by the composer Sara Fraga de Oliveira.

Stefan Zweig Last Poem

Gently hovers the hours olden
Dance over grey hair. But near
The cup’s end at last the golden
Bottom shimmers true and clear.

Prescience of last destination
Soothes us with her tender waves;
Pure joy of world contemplation
Knows but he who nothing craves,

Asks not what he missed of yore,
What he has been loosing, winning,
To whom aging is no more
than a parting’s quiet beginning.

In farewell’s light, free as ever,
Shines the view that soon will fade,
Life more truly loves one never
than in renunciation’s shade.

I recreated the original image and applied a new approach, focusing on literature.
