Animation for Hotel Berlin
Together with 11 other artists, I was commissioned by Oxford House Amsterdam to create an animated wallpaper for the lobby of Hotel Berlin (Berlin, Germany). The theme was "Faces of Berlin", which I took quite literally! The animation is very subtle, to be sure it wouldn't distract the hotel guests too much while they'd be enjoying their morning coffee.

The screen measures 31 x 1 metres and looks amazing in real life. It was the first 3d animation I did for a client, so I'm thankful for their trust in me. Also big thanks to Jeroen from TheOlifants for managing the project!

The project was commissioned in Autumn '21. Due to the pandemic, the release was postponed a couple of times, until the project came out in Summer '22.
Here are some of the characters and objects:
Here's a small test to see how the different elements would work together in a horizontal composition:
And this is what the animation looks like in the actual lobby. The phone video doesn't do the animation much justice, it looks so much better in real life!
Thanks for watching!
