This week, I will be making a dropcap of an alphabet. I will start my sketching my design on paper, then pentooling it on Illustrator.
I chose the book, "Relax". The original book can be found below:
This is the sketch of my DropCap for the alphabet "R" of Relax:
Sorry! Somehow when I upload it on Behance it rotates weirdly although it looks fine on my computer!
Then, I uploaded the image above in Illustrator and traced it using a pen tool. However, as I was tracing it, I found it a little bit plain, hence I added a hammock, umbrella and coconut drink to illustrate relaxation.
Here is the result:
The typography for "-ELAX" is Typewriter. I used a brush to add some colors to the dropcap and lowered the transparency of the color to make it look softer.
