Turn out the lights
Sara Magni’s photography work illustrates two years of emptiness, darkness and silence. “Venues, arenas and stadiums with no artists on stage and no audience below. [...] Musicians and fans forced to stay home, hundreds of thousands of professionals — session musicians, sound technicians, riggers, runners, promoters, bartenders… — indefinitely unemployed.” For Sara Magni, we designed a book based on the “less is more” concept: we only used the graphic elements that were necessary to the narration, and gave up any ornamental ambition. The pages are not bound so that they can be framed and displayed, as if the book were a portable exhibit. The book is packaged in an aseptic plastic envelope where the only iconographic element of the cover is screen-printed.
