The pattern/texture that appears as the background of the cover, as characters and elements in the interior of the book, reminds us of stone, lead, metal and thus represents the material from which the prince himself is composed, ultimately symbolizing his end.

A minimalistic and repetitive color palette is used to create a coherent whole that connects conceptually the covers with the illustrations of the book's interior solutions.
The same simplified palette symbolizes the topic of poverty in an abstract way.
As the cover was composed in negative (grey background + white elements), the idea was to use positive (white background + colored elements and characters) in the interior itself.
