Album Artwork

In the course of my education we were asked to redesign an Album Artwork. I chose Daughters' "If you leave". The main task was to design a three-dimensional lettering either for the name of the choosen musician or the album title. 

Moodboard

During the process we were asked to do a Moodboard to visualize the feelings and impressions we get while listening to the music. 

I collected a lot of images which were able to visualize the mood, colours, places, structures and topics from Daughter’s music.

We were also asked to create a 3D-Moodboard using pictures and words we collected during our research. 

Daughter’s Music is extremely beautiful, disturbing and emotional. It expresses feelings from a very fragile wounded soul. While the lyrics are dark and telling from so much pain, the sound is not dark and heavy, rather full of light. 

To express this fragility I painted my whole body with white paint and made a collage with pictures. The colour dried after some minutes cracked. These cracks symbolize the deep wounds and torn apart soul of Elena Tonras Music.

Lettering Process

I collected images and gathered ideas about the material i wanted to use for my lettering. Soon it was very clear it should visualize the deeply injured, fragile soul. To show these immense hurt I decides to take meat and bones in combination with fragile, white flowers.
