Building# lote 7/8 - Loulé
Located in Loulé, at the Algarve hills, this building was design to have two different typologies,
as requested by the promoter. One typology with one bedroom (T1), and another with two
bedrooms (T2).
With constrains of volumetry and build area, the challenge of this project was to achieve the
most number of fractions. We proposed 23 fractions, 18 T2 and 5 T1 distributed in 3 levels + 1,
5 for level and 3 in the 4th
The T2 typology has a lobby with direct access to the kitchen and into the living room, the
separation between these two spaces is made through a closet supporting both spaces. Both
spaces have access to a large balcony which enhances experiences of housing during the good
weather. The bathroom service is nearby the hall of distribution of the two rooms. This hall
separates the living area of the private area. The rooms have a shared bathroom and a balcony
per room.
The T1 typology has a lobby that distributes the living room, the bedroom, and the bathroom.
The living room has a Kitchenette that can be closed, and both spaces (living room and
bedroom) have a common balcony. All the fractions have one parking space in the basement.
The building has balanced balconies, creating rhythm on the facades in order to allow
shadowing since the weather in Algarve region is hot in summer, and also for protection from
rain and wind in the winter season.
