Capitan Caliente

About Captan Caliente:
Capitan Caliente is a chain of restaurants comparable to real-world KFC/Taco Bell/McDonalds.
It offers pre-made from their menu which hasn’t really changed for years. Pre-heated taco paste
and XXL Burrito are one of their most recognizable products.
Their mascot - Capitan Caliente - is a sailor/luchador, who likes to smoke, drink and of course, eat the best mexican food on the market.
Capitan Caliente commercials are aimed mostly towards teenagers and young adults. They’re snappy, colorful and vulgar. Knowing they’re the cheapest food on the market, they go straight to the point and aren’t afraid of statements like “It’s the best you can afford”
or “It’s not the quality that matters”.
Brief:
TV commercials and advertisements have a very distinctive look and visual language. Each shot
has a clean composition, is easy to read and has its purpose. It is especially true for the short 8-15
second commercials which give the viewer a bite-sized dose of information. The limited time of
the 15-second commercial ensures that all the vital information and branding (from tagline to logo
to brand colors) is neatly packaged into a morsel that’s easy to swallow.
Logo, statement, pack shot, reinforcement - all of these can be used but it’s really the timing and
animation that make it stick in people’s heads.
You’re absolutely free to create whatever composition you wish - part of the test is seeing your
creativity in action. Try aiming for 2-3 shots that would best sell at least one of the provided
products.
