‘Mecedora’ is the Spanish term for rocking chair.  Looking at the classic rocking chair from a new perspective, the Mecedora embraces the juxtaposition of weight, which has been pushed upwards when it is habitually placed lower towards the ground for stability.  This allows for visual interest, without hindering functionality.  According to studies carried out by the United Nations, the net loss of forests globally is approximately 18,000,000 acres yearly.  In an effort to reduce timber waste, this chair is constructed entirely out of scraps and leftovers from an industrial workshop.
