Pachamama's Day (2022)
Celebrating Pachamama's day in the Sagrada Ciudad de Quilmes, Tucumán, Argentina 🌎💚
This celebration on it's about a series of ceremonies, rituals and festivities begin throughout the month of August in different towns of the Andes of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.
It is an ancestral tradition inherited from the ancient native peoples and this ritual is performed to thank "Mother Earth" for her protection and providence, also to ask for the abundance of the earth, animals and the protection of living beings, for the next cycle.
The offerings consist of wines, drinks, plants, food, incense and tobacco, which represents everything provided by Pachamama and is a day to share with her and us, in a certain way, establish a relationship.
And as David Vargas, representative of the Quilmes community, told me: "Thank you for coming and sharing, the way to preserve our culture is to make it known and for people to listen to our stories and songs." 👏🏼👏🏼
