Ceramic Salt and Pepper Shakers

Brief
For this project we were tasked to design and make ceramic salt and pepper shakers in the style of a specific homeware brand and one of their products. The brand I chose to reference is Pedersen Lennard. One of their products, the Riempie bench is what sparked my innovation to create the designs I made. The project consists of the whole ceramic making process of designing, making a pattern, using the pattern to make a mould, casting into the mould, glazing and finishing.
The main inspiration is Pedersen and Lennard's Firenze Riempie Bench which is the bench in the reference board above. The design of the bench incorporates a range of materials, such as wood, metal and rope. The design is mostly geometric with small radii or subtle curves. In my designs, I would like to emulate the textures seen in the bench and Pedersen and Lennard's other products.

Mould Making First Attempt
My first attempt at mould making was not a success due to undercuts that i was unaware of in the pattern. The pattern needed to be fixed by using body filler to close the undercuts (which can be seen in the images above).
