Isometric Illustration: Undersea Facility

Isometric Illustration: Undersea Facility

In this project I was tasked with creating an isometric illustration of my choosing, where I ultimately decided on a scene depicting an underwater lab of some kind. I wanted to create a scene that depicted humanity's foothold towards exploring the depths of the ocean, while showcasing the daily lives of those who reside there. Below is a breakdown of the facilities each structure is used for:

- Left-most building: main housing facility where people would eat, sleep, or go for entertainment. The top floor houses a giant dome and hatches that can open and flood the top floor as needed.
- Top-center-most building: the core research facility of the underwater complex where most scientific discoveries are made. The tower on top is primarily a communications center that doubles as a command center in emergencies.
- Bottom-center: This is a loading and landing pad for mini-subs to come and go.
- Right-most building: this is basically a garage and storage facility where mini-subs are repaired and maintained.
- Several mini-submarines that are meant for getting around on the ocean floor and exploring.
- A Los Angeles-Class nuclear attack submarine is also stopping at the station for, what I would imagine is, resupplying the base with all sorts of items.
