SUPERWEST

Between 2000 and 2021, more than 25,000 homes were newly built, renovated or transformed in this western part of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. An unprecedented great achievement. New schools, breeding grounds, hotels, shops and catering establishments also made this area a more complete, mixed city. You can also see this in the super diverse population in terms of cultural background, income and education.

SuperWest documents 297 construction projects, with an emphasis on 22 prize winners. A number of essays reflect on the result. All in all, the book is filled from head to toe with text and images: 'made wonderfully clear by Beukers Scholma', according to the publisher.

The title for the book SuperWest was conceived by Beukers Scholma and later also implemented for the exhibition and manifestation.
