Typographic Tables | TT
a collection of contemporary typographic culture

in 2011 I curated the exhibition Typographic Tables. With this experimental project I brought together  30 contemporary international highly-regarded Graphic Designers, Typographers, Calligraphers, Artists and emerging talents. The exhibition took place in the ›Museion‹ – Museum of modern and contemporary art Bolzano.

The project aims to explore new ways of cooperation between designers in the field of visual culture. The designers showed the visitors a typographic table (-cloth) with a surface of 1×1 m.

The TT Table – a space to sit around, to eat, to discuss with your table neighbor. And of course the designers had to accept that the visitors of the finissage will touch and interact with their own hands the designed, leaving traces of the use.

The exhibition »Typographic Tables« whereas is about the role of the word, its meaning, its form, its context in our everyday life. A research on the many forms of typographical expression based on the letters of the alphabet. The Designers –coming from very different design cultures– engaged in this typographical adventure demonstrated that they are ready to tread new ground and prepared to embark on a typographical experiment.

The Designer Tables:
»Typographic Tables« was featuring the works of Ed Fella, Erik Spiekermann, Kenya Hara (Muji), Martì Guxiè, Zuzana Licko (Emigré), Irma Boom, Henk van Assen, Büro Destruct, Reza Abedini, Baumann & Baumann, Helmut Schmid and many other internationally renowned designers.
