FRENCH STYLE DINING ROOM

This is a personal project based on the existing apartment layout. Everything reflects my taste and preferences there: from the preserved system of enfilades to numerous pieces of antique furniture.

I wanted to use only the classical french style without mixing it with modern furniture to emphasize the age of the building and its history. I set various tasks in visualisation like the desire for photorealism and experiments with the light. I’d like to express special thanks to the 3d models creators.

Working out the composition laws was one of the the main project goals. I wanted to make a rich interior filled with details and objects, reflecting the mood of the era,and at the same time to make it balanced. While creating a design project, I also pay attention to the nuances as their importance is difficult to overestimate. These may be unusual switches, stucco and baseboards or a lot of decor. The interior should cause the desire to consider it in detail.

I love open windows, sideboards and the variety of dishes in them. People collect such things during their lives and it is pointless to ignore their presence or to hide them. You can create an interior that will be subsequently spoiled by household elements, or you can immediately integrate these items into the interior to make it vivid and to reflect the personality.

I've traditionally solved the problem of light from behind by trying to make it as "flat" as possible in this photo. Technical personnel designed to show the interior in full are necessary for the project, but at the same time the rendering is difficult. To my mind, layering, the presence of foreground and background can help in that case.

Table settings are probably the most difficult part for me. Under the impression from Balthazar Van der Ast’s paintings I’ve chosen this fruit bowl, because this artist is a master of composition, color and shade. It’s very important for a visualizer to have references, observation, experience and impressions.
