Location: Daejeon, Korea

The project consists of two major elements: the memorial hall and the open park with a wide range of activities and purposes, which can be opened up to citizens based on the understanding of the unique context that includes the tragic incident occurred in the site.

Architecture Design
The open park is divided into two parts, one of them is represented by a memorial area that illustrates the events of the Korean War and honors the memory of the victims, while the other zone is a recreational one. The memorial complex smoothly passes into the hall-museum, which is the compositional center of the planned territory. The entrance to the building is from the memorial area.

The memorial hall is located in the building's compositional center as the most critical element of the construction. It's an inner atrium, surrounded by a system of glass partitions. Due to its location, this space is visible from all stories, revealing its function as the core of the building.
