Hagia Sophia
Istanbul, Turkiye

I took these photos of the golden domes and black walls and arches back in 2012 when I was visiting Istanbul. Visiting the Hagia Sophia was truly impressive. The moment you enter the building and know it is one of the oldest buildings you'll ever visit, full of history and diversity. So many different impacts from different cultures and religions during the centuries up to the present which influenced this stunning building.
All this forms a very special atmosphere and lets one feel in awe and admiringly.

This photo of a street art stencil I saw in one of the streets close to the Taksim Square during the protests in 2012 after visiting the Hagia Sophia and somehow it also reminds me on the history and diversity of this building.

Would be nice!
