Project: Amadeus
Key art and advertising art direction for a Finnish staging of Peter Shaffer's play, Amadeus. The project included concept design, art direction and scripting and editing of a short teaser. The campaign ran locally and nationally in Finland.
Amadeus is the story of Salieri, a respected composer in Vienna who becomes obsessed with his rival, Mozart. Salieri feels cursed with mediocracy and sets out to destroy his virtuoso rival, an enfant terrible. The campaign focused on the virtuosity of Mozart (whose talents allow him to run circles around the stiff Salieri), who defies all rules – including gravity. Salieri is literally hit in the face with the talent of Mozart and becomes hell bent on destroying him.
