The brochure highlights all aspects of the company's development and how its work is connected with people's well-being.
The goal of the project is to create a design that reflects the evolution of safety systems and makes visual communication interesting for the reader, despite the complexity of such a topic as the internal structure of a nuclear power plant.
While nuclear power is still a debatable issue in society, it is, however, remains one of the safest and most environmentally friendly ways to produce electricity, compared to other high-carbon energy sources. Nuclear power plants do not pollute water bodies, produce no greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce the burden on the environment. NPPs are also very efficient: one in three light bulbs in the European part of Russia is lit by nuclear electricity.

The creative concept is inspired by the aesthetics of contemporary popular science magazines. Photographs and colored gradients are combined with strict, concise graphics and illustrations that refer to Renaissance drawings. Cross sections symbolize ideal proportions and technological progress. 3D models and the tracing paper spread demonstrate the development of safety systems. By overlaying a page with a drawing of the latest reactor model on an image of the first models, you can see how complicated their construction has become.
The brochure was produced for distribution among Rosenergoatom employees and a wider audience — the company's partners, non-governmental and environmental organizations, and local communities. Following the release of the printed version in Russian and English, we adapted the brochure for the web. The electronic version is available on the Rosenergoatom website.
