Abstract:

Topic „Touristic info and media center of Belgrade“ has been processed as a group project where all participants have been exposed to team work and associated learning environment. Building should represent first interface that tourist would have with a city of Belgrade. In line with that, recognizable and symbolic link between the city and building design should be developed.

Sparrow as a symbol of the city was reflected through the free and elegant form. It has been materialized by using waffle structure for the roof and back wall and visually “light” glazing panels forming the rest of building envelope. Mezzanine levels are allowing structure that is “emerging” out of the ground to be seen from every angle.

Ground Floor has been designed as exhibition space with higher floor height. First floor should serve as educational space while second floor is purposed for administration.
