FOOD WASTE
an infographic project
The final project for the course of Computer Graphic (Illustartor II); at the Academy of Fine Arts Santa Giulia in Brescia (Italy), provides for the development of an infographic; the datasets available cover a very delicate and current topic; the waste of food in the world; with the aim of transmitting the information in a clear way; and understandable by all.
The goal is the creation of a hypothetical editorial layout, which helps to sensitize people on a great problem of our time.
FOOD WASTE
we all make a change!
Saving food means saving money, but look at the bigger picture, too. Reducing food waste is good for the planet, as it helps slow down global warming.
If global food waste were a country, it would be third largest emitter of greenhouse gases after China and the US.
By using up every edible bit of your food, you’re doing your bit to look after the environment; imagine what we could achieve if we all make a change!

Food loss and waste is a major part of the impact of agriculture on climate change (it amounts to 3.3 billion tons of CO2e emissions annually) and other environmental issues, such as land use, water use and loss of biodiversity. Moreover, reducing food waste in all parts of the food system is an important part of reducing the environmental impact of agriculture, by reducing the total amount of water, land, and other resources used.
