Primitive Art Museum

Primitive Art Museum is a fictive museum. I drafted its identity in the framework of a one-week workshop on web-design. The idea of the workshop was to imagine an entity and to create a visual identity in harmony with the audience and with the image and range of influence of the museum. I opted for the idea of a cultural institution. Having a particular interest for tribal and aboriginal arts, I chose to design the museum to be located in Paris.
In a first step, I realized quite a few sketches in order to create a logotype modelled on the museum.
The reason for the choice of Black and White is the old age of the items of the Museum. Monochromy is used for the visual identity of the website as well as for the photographs. It also symbolizes the cultural contrasts. Finally, Black and White provides only a partial view/insight into the works of art, withholding a part of mystery and surprise for the visitors.
