INSETA, the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority, needed a design that would not only set them apart from their competition and present them as a leader and innovator in their field but also as being environmentally conscious, responsible and—very importantly—as an exciting industry for employment. Although reporting on one’s environmental impact is not yet enforced on companies, institutions and departments in South Africa, INSETA felt that it was imperative that they move to greener solutions. As such the report is printed on recycled FSB accredited paper.

    Addressing the visual challenge of presenting the insurance industry as an exciting and interesting field for employment (as well as setting it apart from the competition) is an informal and welcoming feel created with the application of bright colour, loose, and somewhat naive, doodle-type illustrations for what is fundamentally a technical document—not something most choose to pick up and read. 

    A glossy contrasting belly-band of enveloped hands creates an interesting entry point to the document and reveals the cover design once opened.
