o brasil assistiu, a partir de junho de 2013, a uma série de protestos espontâneos espalhados por todo o pais, como não se via desde os tempos da ditadura. as reivindicações se alternavam entre questões como o aumento da tarifa do transporte público e a corrupção, e as manifestações se alongaram por todo o segundo semestre de 2013. apesar de se definirem como uma tática, e não um grupo, o black bloc formou o conjunto de manifestantes que gerou a maior discussão. pelo menos em teoria, tratam-se de anarquistas que repudiam todas as formas de opressão por parte de qualquer órgão ou instituição, pública ou privada, que opere de acordo com as normas do sistema capitalista. as imagens desta série são o resultado de quatro anos de trabalho, e retratam a coexistência forçada a que são submetidos tanto os que protestam como os que oprimem, e as ferramentas de que dispõe para que se estabeleçam.
the black bloc caused a big impact on the protests in brazil since june 2013. defining themselves as being a tactic, not a group, the people who adopt this way of behaving during protest are, at least in theory, anarchists who hate anything that they define as being oppressive. using what they call direct action, they attack mainly banks, but also shops from international big brands and government buildings. there are also constant clashes against the police. with the fact that they use black clothing to protect and conceal their faces from being identified, it didn’t take long until the police started being accused – there is video footage – of infiltrating undercover agents in order to start the confrontations.
