For this critical space, we focused on “floating” the office and lounge over the motorcourt and boat slip. The double-sided curtain wall allows the landscape and environment to bleed into the room.

One of my favorite aspects of mid-century architecture is the subtle floor elevation changes. This helps to create intrigue and visuals to other spaces, but allows for varying heights and feelings throughout the spaces. I am grateful that our client loves them as well! Here we have a 2.5 height main living space that sees down into the garage and up into the family and master space above.

The rear of the structure is highlighted by a double-height all-glass living room - capped on either side with monolithic architectural concrete fin walls. The steel I-beams and varying window sizing adds further layering to the architecture - while the office/lounge all-glass floating volume overlooks the unique on-site boat slip and the Little River beyond.
