BACKGROUND
During my studies I´ve been asked to find possible design solutions for a global issue, the Zika virus spread. I started this design thinking and prduct design challenge without any information about the Zika virus global issue, neither about magnification devices or RNA sequence methodology. A design thinking approach bring evidence of specific needs, and by applying the principles of the Delft design guide I followed a product design process for the develop of my solution. Further a product name with his brand identy and 3D visuals have been created to consolidate the product values and potential for investors.
PROCESS
The product design process followed reflects the double diamond framework typical of the design thinking principles. Trello have been used to organize and track the sprints by using the scrum technique and other research tools such as brainwriting, questionnaire, interviews, visual research, user joursey map, stakeholder map and the strategic wheel in particular.
SOLUTION
The research evidence the needs to verify and respond quickly to new possible virus outbreak in order to delimit and put in quarantine the area. As a result of the process, we create a shockproof case to carry all the necessary instruments to run RNA tests and get a quick diagnosis. The NeuBox carries a lithium battery pack connected to a solar system to recharge the mobile device and the others electrical component, the nanoparticle microchip, a precision pump, the disposable needles and the necessary liquids.
