Yasuní

The Amazon rain forest of Yasuní, Ecuador, has the highest number of species registered per hectare on the entire planet. In 2014 a group of researchers from ICTA (Autonomous University of Barcelona), including Pau Cardellach, delved into the lushness of this Biosphere Reserve. Apart from the enormous biodiversity, the region is home to a great cultural wealth due to the ethnic groups that inhabit, such as the Waoranis who live between tradition and capitalist influence.
