Once upon a time

there was a sketch of a tree house.

 

I am working on a children's book and I was looking for a style to illustrate it with.

I tried and experimented a little and finally I found this technique and style to suit my drawing and painting habits pretty well.

 

Here's the sketch with a few colored areas.

Colored and ready to get to the important parts – the lights, shadows and shapes.

Here is my final result. This image is not a part of the story and was for experimenting purposes only - I am so fond of the results I may actually do many of any upcoming childrens book like this.
