The brief was to create a series of playing cards based on the theme of visual metaphor. Alternatively, your design could pay homage to a famous designer from the last 100 years. Each card is animated so that it comes to life in 3D when scanned with the Artivive App.

Card 1: Herb Lubalin Homage:
My first design is a recreation of his famous typographic piece, 'Beards'. Instead of 'beards', I've redrawn the type to read 'Hearts', to match the cards suit.
Card 2: The Flying Aces:
A flying ace is a pilot credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat. To communicate this graphically, I've created a stop motion animation of a paper plane, swaying side-to-side. The paper plane's shape, mimics that of the diamond suit.
Card 3: Tetris
Anyone who's played Tetris will probably know that there are 7 tile pieces. This animation is simply a recreation of the game, including in-game music and sound effects.
Card 4: Pop Art Revolver
My final card is based on Roy Lichtenstein's 'Pistol'. A revolver can fire 6 bullets, linking with the number 6, with the idea of death linking to the spade suit. The bang design is inspired by the work of Gary Grayson.
