Designed to coincide with the release of his newest album 4 featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators — Slash’s management team wanted a site that not only spoke to this album but would carry him into the future. The new album 4 has the added history-making distinction of being the first-ever album to be released on the new Gibson Records label.

Inspired by previous album art, Slash's own Instagram, and the multitude of fan artwork — the idea of incorporating a skull was a no-brainer. I came up with the idea of the undulating smoke effect and eagerly presented it to the management team who showed it to Slash. They loved the idea and it was then my turn to jump into the unknown world of Adobe After Effects to create the smoke effect and the video reflection within his sunglasses.

Previously, the number of visitors to the website averaged under 20k per month. With the release of the new site, as well as the launch of his newest album 4, the site saw growth in February to 110k — an increase of 450%.
