In this series of exercises we will explore proper typesetting through the creation of portfolio teaser pages. These pages are vital to your portfolio and in some ways will become the visual embodiment of you. These pages involve the creation of typographic systems and are a way to showcase your typographic abilities. These exercises will act as practice for that process and could potentially be used for your final portfolio.

We will complete 6 exercises in total, each with its own set of restrictions. All of the exercises will be created with 10x13” pages and should be focused on carefully set and arranged typography. They should each utilize the same project and basic content for their layout. All of them should be a single spread (2 pages) unless otherwise noted. Be mindful of the fonts you select, the sizes you use and the
way you control the hierarchy on the page. Although visuals are allowed, this assignment will focus on the typesetting and the type systems that are built.

2. AXIS: Use up to two typefaces and create
a design that heavily plays with axis. You are
welcome to use graphic elements, color, imagery,
illustration or any other visuals you wish.
