Designed Futures Poster:
Art Nouveau
This project was made to recreate a style from a certain time period. I chose Art Nouveau and used references from Alphonse Mucha’s famous work of intricately decorated theater posters. The image is of Mother Earth slowly dying as the world is being destroyed by pollution and other contributing factors. This is a possible outcome in the future if we don’t try to stop global warming and work together to help the earth heal. The poster entitled Médée by Alphonse Mucha was a big inspiration for this poster. It depicts a scene from the famous Greek tragedy Médée as Medea is standing over her slain children. The Art Nouveau style was most active in the early 1900s. The highly decorative style contained many organic forms and flourishes.
