Year of the Trojan Horse

THE STORY BEHIND
It's funny that the conceptual thinking behind this personal project goes as straightforward as: "This year's Chinese New Year is the year of the Wooden Horse, the first thing that come to my mind is Trojan Horse. Okay that's it, sketch time." Simple as that.

So, since it's gonna be an intercultural marriage between two cultural profile, Greek and Chinese, I decided to frame the illustration scene in Trojan Horse's narrative, then stylize it contextually with Chinese culture.

Once upon a time, the citizens of Chinatroy celebrates the arrival of the New Year Wooden Horse by pulling it into their city, then the God of Prosperity surprises them from inside the hidden chamber by showering the citizens with Hongbao!

For the background, the city of Troy and its impenetrable wall also receive a Chinese look & feel treatment to resembles the great wall of China and its unique architecture silhouette.
