Hand Drawn Elevation of Entire School Buillding
The building's plan was inspired by a traditional African mask design.
The mask's semicircle and circular shapes influence the semi-circle shape and placement of the classrooms.
An enlarged plan of the entire school building.

The final design consists of three individual classroom buildings with an outdoor gather space, all under one roof.

A small model and site model show the entire building sitting on the site.
A larger physical model shows one of the three individual classroom buildings.
The corrugated metal roof overhangs the building and provides shade and a for students to gather in their free time.
There is a gap between the top of the wall and the roof to allow for natural air ventilation and daylighting.

The building has no access to electricity and is located in a very hot and dry climate, so passive systems were applied dramatically to allow for an adequete learning environment for many children in an enclosed space.
There is a blue-tinted semi-transluscent polycarbonate panel that allows natural sunlight to filter through it, while still allowing for ventilation and keeping rain and perspiration from dripping below.
