SKETCHES
After studying the forms of our chosen objects we were supposed to either make a lamp or a tea pot inspired from our chosen objects. I decided to design a lamp inspired from the form of a garlic bulb.
In most of my initial explorations I was looking at how individual pieces were making an entire structure much like several pods make one garlic bulb. It started seeming like a very direct form inspiration which is why I referred back to the attributes where it was observed that the form is sectioned but appears as one whole united structure.
The final form of the lamp is a slight abstraction of the garlic bulb form. The surface curves of the form provides an illusion of the form being sectioned when in fact it is one whole continuous body.
