While being a part of Brigada's design team, I worked on a concept for an exhibition of Adris Group's annual reports, realized with Bruketa&Žinić OM over the past ten years. Held during Weekend Media Festival 2013, in a former tobacco factory in Rovinj, Croatia.
This old industrial space was the exhibition site, where the annual reports were on display but without showing the books itself. Instead, ten white cylinders were installed each representing one annual report. The ceiling of the pavilion was filled with hundreds of enlarged, printed pages from all ten reports that, suspended from a specially devised substructure, created a unique texture evocative of the tobacco leaves that used to hang in the space while drying. Light filtering through the sheets of paper created a “dematerialization” of the ceiling surface while at the same time allowing visitors to study whichever page caught their interest.

The classic way of exhibiting books in a gallery setting was not suitable for this type of festival, as small-format books would be overshadowed by their surroundings and their content would remain hidden. This way, festival attendees could see illustrations or read interesting facts even in passing, while those who had a little more time on their hands could journey through the entire chronology of Adris Group’s development over the past ten years.
