BOOK ILLUSTRATION
I created a series of MAA Kali illustrations as part of my college project.
Paying homage to my culture, I tried to capture the essence of each form of Maa Kali through my illustrations.
This project is very personal to me, as in this generation people are not strongly rooted to the beliefs and religion. In order to make upcoming young children aware about Hinduism and the religious beliefs and history, I kept the style in such a way that children would engage in more. I tried showing similarity and difference at the same time through my illustrations as these were the forms of Maa Kali.
The illustrations signifies the fact that the book is the perfect amalgamation of the old and the new , as the figures are in abstract form yet illustrative.
