This is a second project that was created during my participation in a design contest that was held by Yandex and HSE Art and Design school in 2019-2020.

The task was to create a catalogue for a cultural event. At that time I was studying postmodern art for my another university project, during which I discovered Robert Rauschenberg's artworks. That's how I came up with the idea of "Texture" exhibition, which main focus is on textures and materials in Robert Rauschenberg's art.
During Robert Rauschenberg's study in Black Mountain College, his teacher Josef Albers noted that red was one of the hardest colour to work with for the young artist. Later in Rauschenberg's career red would be the colour that brought him the recognition, as the colour played a significant role in his popular series "Red Paintings" and "Combine".

This is the reason why the artwork "Red Interior" (1954) was put on the cover of the catalogue – to empasize the importance of red in Rauschenberg's career.
The only typeface that is used in this catalogue is Helvetica Now in Light, Regular and Extrabold. It is a very clean and pleasant typeface that doesn't take away attention from the printed artworks.

The original Helvetica was created in 1957, right around the time of Rauschenberg's growing popularity. Both the typeface and the artist were perceived as the breakthroughs back then and both are the established parts of design and art history today.
