For this Project I created an editorial illustration based off of the article, "How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation". The article is about how millennials feel the need to constantly overwork themselves because that has become the standard within their generation. As the article states, millennials are "struggling to achieve the same standard of living" as their parents while having to work more hours for less pay. As a result, many millennials suffer from burnout, which is a form of mental and physical exhaustion due to prolonged stress.
The mental and physical stress people get from burnout can be overwhelming. I wanted to show that its not just things like work and school that cause the feeling of burnout, but also simple things like answering a phone call or submitting something before the due date. When I experience burnout, I feel like I am falling into an endless void of things I need to check off of my to-do list, so that's what I decided to portray.
