Print Projects @SquaredUp

This is a collection of the print projects I've worked on for SquaredUp, together with some photos from the live events my design ideas have been to.

All visuals in this project belong to SquaredUp.

2022
/// San Francisco
For the first half of 2022, SquaredUp has been around the globe to promote its latest products. The print file for the event in San Francisco has been our prototype, that eventually evolved into the later iterations of the project. The concept involves a big, bold text on top of an even bolder colour, fading into an isometric view of a screenshot from the product. Below the product, following an isometric structure, are found several layers with the logos of the integrations supported by the product itself.
Together with the design for the kiosk, the team showed up while wearing branded t-shirts and hoodies, plus coral-coloured shoes for an increased visual consistency.

/// Stockholm
For the Stockholm event, the size and aspect ratio of the kiosk changed quite a bit, so the original design was evolved and repurposed.

/// Berlin
The booth SquaredUp was granted for the event in Berlin was dramatically different from the original one in San Francisco. Some heavy rearranging has been required on the design side, but the final result was enveloping and seamless.

/// Atlanta
By the time SquaredUp arrived to Atlanta, the product's UI had evolved a lot, and therefore an updated screenshot was implemented in the booth design, which was otherwise similar to the San Francisco one.

/// Raleigh
The event in Raleigh was quite unique, as it featured a dual roll-up banner, together with a branded tablecloth. The stand really jumped out to the eyes of the visitors.

/// Scottish Summit
A massive, spacious booth and a pop-up case really made the Scottish Summit kiosk pop out. The panoramic shape of the booth allowed for a tidier, cleaner visual layout.

/// Sergeant stripes sticker
This idea of mine, later discarded by the stakeholders, involved designing a sticker resembling a sergeant's stripes/badge, that could have been given to potential customers at events. The rationale behind the result is to "decorate" the events' visitors in a playful way while also visually nodding to the Mission-Control-themed booths.

2021
/// AWS re:Invent - Las Vegas
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, SquaredUp only went to one single event in 2021 - the visuals and the messaging, anyway, were ambitious and eye-catching. I've let my passion for videogames inspire me, and I pitched to the stakeholders the idea of using Tetris-like tetrominos to represent integrations/plugins. The concept was approved enthusiastically and it resulted in the design below, which I uploaded in high resolution for a better view of the details of the execution.
Here are some screenshots of the print files to give you a full view of the project. One of the main challenges of this project was to manage a large number of gradients and glow effects.
Branded facemasks with the company's logomark and colours were made for the entire staff.
They can be seen in the event photos below, together with custom-made t-shirts mirroring the messaging of the booth.

The original idea for this booth design was born from a funny drawing of a T-rex playing Tetris, which I have drawn with a mouse during a Gartic Phone match with the digital team.
The Tetris theme was later on further extended through the making of a series of five bespoke sticker sheets. Each one features a different set of pieces, arranged to resemble a wrestler, a flower, an old man with a cane, a deer in the moonlight and a spaceship. Each single tetromino can be peeled individually, allowing the event's visitors to rearrange them as they wanted, be it on their laptop or anywhere else - this works in synergy with the "big picture" theme, and is presented with the "Make your own picture" text on the sticker sheets.
Preliminary, hand-made sketches that served as a preparation for the final output.

2020
/// Microsoft Ignite 2020

2019
/// Microsoft Ignite 2019
The concept I worked on for 2019's Ignite event was ambitious and featured multiple surfaces to design, together with several bits of messaging to deliver. Here are some of the mock-up iterations I've produced, followed by some photos of the printed result.
