Illustrationplan:
The illustrations plan showcases a residential area that embraces a "back to basics" concept while sporting a new and modern appearance. We believe in the trend of having one's own garden, the opportunity to engage in small-scale cultivation, living in a community with like-minded individuals, harmonizing with nature, and the ability to work from home. Therefore, we have endeavored to design an attractive residential area that captures these elements, where people can feel safe, live independently, and adopt environmentally-friendly practices.

The combined urban typologies are proven and secure, tailored to suit the conditions of Aringsås. The plots are narrow and deep, while the houses are placed closely and at a low height, directly connected to the street. Next to the houses, there are entrances, and behind them lie gardens with garages, storage spaces, annexes, and cultivation boxes. Residents have ample opportunities in the backyard, without excessive maintenance demands.Choosing density and low-rise structures over sparse and high-rise ones creates pleasant human-scale street environments, promoting enjoyable transitions between private and public spaces without the domination of parking areas. All parking, except for guest or business-related parking, takes place within the plots.

Along the periphery, larger local streets run, while inside the area, smaller narrow streets and cul-de-sacs provide access to the residences. Traffic participants coexist, with prioritization given to pedestrians and cyclists. Walking paths meander between the rear gardens of the plots, fostering a sense of community.
The plan represents around 90 dwellings distributed across different types of buildings, organized around a central social and open area. In the northwestern part of the plan, a preschool and assisted living facility are placed in close proximity to each other, the area, and the main road in a functional manner.
In the upper central part of the plan, a combination of a small shop, orangery, and café fosters community and offers space for activities.
House Types:
The housing in the area comprises of four-family houses, townhouses, catalog/styled small houses, single-family houses, and duplexes. These different house modules can be combined in various ways to create an interesting and diverse built environment.

A house module has a plot depth ranging from 20 to 30 meters, with the main building along the street and auxiliary buildings along the plot boundary. Privacy and openness between the plots can be managed through the placement of auxiliary buildings as well as the height of hedges and fences.

By providing simple plots with standardized dimensions, it facilitates contractors and builders to construct efficiently using different production methods while maintaining the desired appearance and coherence with the surroundings.
Assisted Living Facility: Adjacent to the daycare center, an assisted living facility is being constructed with the underlying idea that the joy of children can be contagious. Assisted living provides tailored living arrangements for older individuals who are healthy but seek increased security and social interaction. With shared spaces and sightlines towards the preschool, these two generations can greatly benefit from each other, revitalizing the area and facilitating young families to settle in the neighborhood.

Preschool: The presence of a preschool cultivates children's zest for life. By integrating it with the assisted living facility, the aim is to create an environment where different generations can mutually enrich each other, while also adding vibrancy to the community and making it more appealing for young families to reside in.
Innovations:
Water Recycling: A buried tank collects rainwater for reuse in household chores and gardening, saving up to 30-40% of water consumption. It provides exemption from watering restrictions and requires minimal maintenance.

Car Sharing: An electric carpool, powered by solar panels, is conveniently located on the main street, promoting a green and sustainable lifestyle.
Infrastructure:
The area is connected to Alvesta via the main road, with three entrances along the main road providing access to the rest of the area. Within the more central parts of the area, motorists are expected to adapt to pedestrians and cyclists. To simplify accessibility and promote a sustainable lifestyle, a network of pedestrian streets is established within the area, connecting attractive locations in Aringsås.

A bus stop is located along the main road, easily accessible to encourage the use of public transportation while reducing the speed of passing vehicles. All parts of the area have convenient and natural connections to the bus stop and car-sharing services, enhancing accessibility.

Along the perimeter, larger local streets run, while inside the area, smaller narrow streets and cul-de-sacs provide access to the residences. The focus is on accommodating pedestrians and cyclists, with shared spaces for traffic. Walking paths meander between the rear gardens of the plots.
