The Ask
The ask for this project was to choose a location and story in order to redesign a modern currency
Intended audience
The intended audience for my project was anyone who is using the United States of America currency, my currency also doubles as a memorial to the events of 9/11 so it can also be viewed by anyone.
Research
Since I live in America and I am extremely educated on the events of 9/11 I did not have to do any research for the country and story but I researched the dollar and design aspect. I dug through the design of the dollar I spent a decent amount of time overviewing every little detail on American currency. I also researched memorials for 9/11 because I wanted my dollar to act as a vehicle for a memorial.

As I stated above, the first part of our project was creating a mood board, so after I did that I received peer feed back. I had to decide which idea to choose and I chose the story of 9/11. After that I started playing around in photoshop by making dollar bills blank and incorporating the twin towers into them. We had to have 6 total pictures of our bills total, front and back with a common design style, color, and font. Because of this I decided to move into illustrator and start blank myself. I created what I thought a more modern bill would look like, with pictures, and sleek font and colors.
