Magazine/Poster Hybrid
Statement of Intent
This project focuses on the environmental harm of using endangered species for traditional Chinese medicines (TCM)
with data visualization. The challenge that came with the design was the various species in a single data visualization
poster. To create a linear storytelling format and to help prevent the different species of animals from creating a visual
clutter with each other. I did some paper exploration and created a magazine and poster hybrid on each side. The
magazine portion focused on data visualization for each species on its page, wanting to create a national geographic
inspired design for its cover and message for the environment. The poster side has a vectorized image of a tiger with
a satirical title claiming it to be the miracle cure for all things with a list of uses.
