1P ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE CONCEPT - Bachelor degree project at Malmö University
This project draws attention to the fact that electric motorcycles often are perceived as geeky and futuristic. It is a view shared by the majority of the people who have been contacted during the project. The electric vehicle market therefore misses out on potential buyers.
The project focuses on using emotional design and semiotics to establish an emotional connection between the product and the user that is so strong that any other deficiencies can be overlooked, and thus give a more positive view on electric motorcycles. To understand what it is that creates this band the target group itself got to tell what they requested of the concept.
The goal of the project has been to develop a model and presentation sketch that can be used as inspiration for further development of electric motorcycles. The target group’s input resulted in a smooth, aggressive and racing inspired street motorcycle with a totally unique frame construction and an edgy but at the same time contemporary design.
