Nelumbo ring

This project was inspired by a flower as beautiful as the lotus. This ring depicts all stages of nelumbo blooming, from the buds to the crumbling middle of the flower.

To begin, I shaped the general appearance of the ring out of modeling wax.
I designed it in such a way that later it could be removed from the form for replication.
Let's call it “dismemberment” :)
Then I got the parts from the casting and further machined the parts. Yes, the work is not the least bit dusty or dirty 😂
After that, I send the parts to remove the rubber mold from them. And we get parts like this in disassembled form.
[my lovely workplace]
Then I assemble these parts into rings and earrings, solder the casts to them and send them off for casting.
These are the earrings before the plating.
And voila
After rhodium-plating, gilding and setting the stones we got such beauty.
The stones are diamonds, sapphires, and tourmalines.
