With the spread of electric vehicles and autonomous driving, automobiles are being reborn as new smart devices that bring benefits in time and space from traditional simple means of transport. In line with this, a series of personal projects that suggest new interfaces for cars that are more flexible and can operate in many situations, and among them, we introduce the idea of a gear stick base first.

In line with this, a series of personal projects that suggest new interfaces for cars that are more flexible and can operate in many situations, and among them, we introduce the idea of a gear stick base first.



Ideation

Traditional cars have interfaces that allow users to turn the car's fragmentary features on and off. In order to operate today's cars that offer a variety of features in this situation, manufacturers have adopted a number of buttons or a touch screen to achieve extreme simplicity. The disadvantages of both methods are that they are difficult to operate while driving, and a new design is needed to complement them.







VR Prototyping

It is time-consuming and costly to create a full scale design for automotive interiors. Especially at the prototype stage, which requires countless modifications and verifications, the cost increases exponentially. VR systems were used to derive better designs in limited resources and time. Although it is a virtual reality, it is a great advantage to be able to quickly and diversely verify the prototype of the real scale just by modifying the data.






CMF Strategy​​​​​​​

As the structure of the car changes from internal combustion engines to electrical ones, the interior is transforming into another living space, not just a boarding space. In line with this trend, artificial leather and laminated wood are used to create future-oriented, cozy, and comfortable materials and colors.
