SANPI Pizza&Prosecco - alive picture (film)

This project was a big experiment for us at Lodka. Our mission was to make an 'alive picture', which would be a part of SANPI's interior. Usually our commercial videos at the moment were mostly short dynamic videos for social media, conceptual and experimental films, and all in between. But never before had we done a very slow-paced project like this. And a film we made for SANPI has turned out to be very successfull.

We designed the whole 25-minute 'alive picture' to consist of 4 modules, which correlate with different stages of making pizza and other processes at the restaurant, showing a slow and splendid process of getting products from singular ingredients to being served to the customers.
The whole film is related to as an 'alive picture' because its purpouse is to be looping on a screen at the restaurant, showing customers how exactly is their food prepaired, how much love and skill is put into it, what are the original ingredients, where and how the pizza is done, what are the details which eye often misses - and many more.

The duration of the film is such as to be corresponding to time spent in a restaurant, which usually varies from 20 minutes and an hour. What's more, th modular form of the 'alive picture' lets for a new modules to be created, for old modules to get additions, and for the whole film to be flexible. Restaurant may, for example, loop only the 1st module, or the half of the film - or the whole film. New modules may be completed, with new products, new concepts, new additions to the restaurant itself, and the form of the movie makes this swift and simple.
Film does consist not only of video, slo-mo video and other video content, but also of photos, which were put in between modules. Photography was done at the same time as the film was made by our colleague https://www.instagram.com/szanowny.piotrus.pan/
This film had to include many close-ups and not a lot of crowded wide shots, because of the nature of where the film has to be shown. A desired viewing experience of this film is: a customer walks into SANPI, sees the place, the fragment of the film, picks a place. In between conversations with his or her fellows, the customer looks at the film from time to time, each time seeing something different and new, yet not annoying and not being too overloaded. Therewise, shots had to be visually simple, clear, and nicely seen from the farthest places of the restaurant. At the moment, film is working exactly like this and is an interesting and unique part of SANPI interior.
SANPI recieved files of all modules separatly in 4k, as well as the whole film in 4k and fullHD. Antos Sivyh has shot the film in 2 days and edited in 2 weeks. Editing consisted of dividing all footage into modules, picking the best footage for each module, making individual shots better, combining the film from separate fragments. This was a very unique project for us, and we are glad to make films which are needed and seen every day.
